Abstrakt: | A recent study conducted at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences investigated the use of betadine and vancomycin powder for skin preparation in preventing wound infections in open fractures of the lower limb. The double-blind clinical trial found that the simultaneous use of betadine and vancomycin powder did not have a significant effect on wound infection after surgery in patients with open lower limb fractures. The study involved 40 men undergoing internal fixation surgery for open fractures, with results analyzed using the ASEPSIS scoring method. This research provides valuable insights into wound infection prevention strategies for healthcare professionals and researchers in the field. [Extracted from the article] |
