Abstrakt: A researcher from Duesseldorf has introduced a new scar-minimizing procedure called periareolar interlocking suture (PIS) for mastectomy in small-breasted individuals experiencing gender dysphoria. The study combined concentric periareolar mastectomy (CPM) with PIS and waterjet-assisted liposuction (WAL) in patients with good skin quality and elasticity. Results showed high patient satisfaction, low complication rates, and preserved nipple sensitivity, making it a preferred technique for individuals seeking aesthetic outcomes with minimal scarring. The study conducted 2312 mastectomies in 1156 people with gender dysphoria, with positive outcomes in a carefully selected cohort of patients with small breasts. [Extracted from the article]
