Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at SMS Medical College in Rajasthan, India, focused on the rare variant of biliary atresia known as cystic biliary atresia. The study highlighted two cases of infants with cholestatic jaundice, where cystic biliary atresia was confirmed intra-operatively. The researchers emphasized the importance of early operative intervention and the use of the Kasai portoenterostomy procedure to palliate cholestasis in infants with this condition. The findings underscore the need for a high index of suspicion when diagnosing and treating cystic biliary atresia. [Extracted from the article]
