Abstrakt: Researchers from Zhejiang Chinese Medical University conducted a study on electroacupuncture (EA) as a treatment for neuropathic pain in a rat model of chronic compression of the dorsal root ganglion (CCD). The study found that EA at frequencies of 2/100 Hz effectively alleviated mechanical allodynia and inhibited the upregulation of P2X3 receptors in the dorsal root ganglia. These findings suggest that EA could be a viable treatment option for conditions like sciatica and low back pain in clinical settings. The research was funded by the Natural Science Foundation of Zhejiang Province and the Zhejiang Traditional Chinese Medicine Administration. [Extracted from the article]
