A recent study conducted at the University of Alabama Birmingham explored the relationship between maternal stress, household disorder, eating behaviors, and adiposity in women and their children. The research found that perceived stress and household disorder were associated with uncontrolled and emotional eating in women, as well as food responsiveness and emotional overeating in their children. The study suggests that household disorder may be a relevant factor to consider in interventions aimed at addressing eating behaviors in families with children. The findings were published in the journal Eating Behaviors and have been peer-reviewed. [Extracted from the article] |
