Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at Universitas Sumatera Utara in Indonesia focused on the use of urine Neutrophil Gelatinase-Associated Lipocalin (NGAL) levels as a predictor of early acute kidney injury (AKI) in patients who have undergone Coronary Artery Bypass Graft (CABG) surgery. The research found that elevated urine NGAL levels may be more indicative of renal damage than an increase in circulation, with NGAL showing promise as a predictor of AKI in CABG patients. The study concluded that NGAL could be a useful parameter in predicting AKI, but further research with a multi-center design is needed to validate these results. [Extracted from the article]
