Abstrakt: Researchers from Iwate Medical University conducted a clinical investigation on the risk factors of Medication-related Osteonecrosis of the Jaw (MRONJ), a condition caused by drugs like bisphosphonates and denosumab. The study compared patients diagnosed with MRONJ over a 10-year period and found that the number of cases after tooth extraction decreased, while cases after dental infections increased. Patients receiving denosumab should be closely monitored during surgery to prevent MRONJ, according to the research. The findings were published in the Journal of Stomatology, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. [Extracted from the article]
