Abstrakt: The article discusses the use of endobronchial valves (EBVs) for treating persistent air leaks (PALs) in children with necrotizing pneumonia. The study, conducted at four pediatric hospitals, found that EBVs were effective in managing PALs in children, with most patients showing improvement or resolution of the air leak. The procedure was well-tolerated, and EBVs were successfully removed in the majority of cases. The study suggests that EBVs can be a minimally invasive and safe method for managing PALs in children with necrotizing pneumonia, potentially avoiding more invasive surgical interventions.
