A group of plaintiffs sued the commissioner of the Virginia Department of Motor Vehicles to halt enforcement of a state law that provided for the automatic suspension of a resident's driver's license if they failed to pay certain court fines and fees. The plaintiffs then asked for attorney's fees under federal law. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
