Abstrakt: In this article, a deterministic two-warehouse inventory system is analyzed. It includes imperfect quality production items with rework process. It is an extension of the work done by [Leopoldo Eduardo Cárdenas-Barrón.et.al (2021)], in which it is considered only one warehouse for storage of items with varying holding costs for storing defective and non-defective items. In the present work, it is extended to a two-warehouse scenario namely the maintenance of own warehouse (푂푊) and rental warehouses (푅푊). In the traditional economic ordering quantity (EOQ) models, the replenished items are assumed as good in its condition, but in natures it is not so all the time. There are many factors which are influencing on production process and logistics. It results in items' defectiveness. Screening of items prior to the sale of any goods is essential to maintain customer good will and retaining quality maintenance. Once the defective items are sent for re-do processes, they are expected to be received back within the replenishment cycle after the completion of re-do process. At the same time, if all returned items from re-do processing station are screened again before allowing them in to the existing inventory then there may be the possibility that some of the items might have been still defective. Present model is constructed with all above consideration the model evolves with time dependent demand and infinite capacity of rental warehouse. An explicit expression for total cycle cost is derived and optimized it for minimizing the total cost of the cycle. The results are validated by numerical illustration with appropriate parameter values and the sensitive analysis recommends the investor to realize the effect of: magnification parameter of the time dependent demand, purchase cost, purchasing lot size, holding cost, screening cost and re-do cost of the identified defective items on total cycle cost of the system. It help them to design their optimum decision strategy in the competitive commercial market environment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
