A recent study conducted at the Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences in New Delhi, India, focused on predicting acute kidney injury (AKI) in patients undergoing living donor liver transplantation. The research found that measuring serum cystatin C levels at the end of surgery was more effective in identifying patients at risk of AKI compared to baseline levels. This study highlights the potential of cystatin C as a biomarker for early detection of AKI in liver transplant patients. [Extracted from the article] |
