A recent study conducted at Radboud University Medical Center compared high-risk features in non-culprit lesions and clinical outcomes after NSTEMI versus STEMI. The study found that the presence of high-risk plaques in non-culprit lesions was comparable between NSTEMI and STEMI patients, leading to higher event rates in both groups. The researchers suggest further investigation into complete revascularization in NSTEMI and the treatment of high-risk plaques. The study was published in the European Heart Journal - Cardiovascular Imaging in 2024. [Extracted from the article] |
