Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at the University of Oxford examined myocardial disarray and fibrosis in individuals with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and pre-hypertrophic sarcomeric variant carriers. The research utilized diffusion tensor cardiac magnetic resonance (DT-CMR) to assess microstructural alterations and their relationship with electrocardiographic (ECG) parameters associated with arrhythmic risk. Findings indicated that low diastolic fractional anisotropy (FA) was present in both SARC+LVH- and HCM, with implications for repolarization prolongation and potential markers of disease activity in HCM. The study was funded by various organizations, including the British Heart Foundation and the Nihr Oxford Biomedical Research Centre. [Extracted from the article]
