Abstrakt: A study conducted by researchers at Shandong University explored the relationship between metabolic syndrome (MetS) and fatty pancreas, both of which are linked to an increased risk of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and pancreatic cancer. The study utilized bidirectional Mendelian randomization to investigate the causal connection between MetS and pancreatic fat. The findings indicated that there was no causal relationship between MetS and pancreatic fat, but abdominal obesity was identified as a causal factor. The research suggests that understanding these relationships is crucial for developing effective prevention and treatment strategies. [Extracted from the article]
