Researchers at the Federal University of Vicosa in Brazil conducted a study on heterotrophic nitrifying-aerobic denitrifying bacteria, specifically focusing on Pseudomonas strains. The study aimed to characterize the genomes of four bacterial strains and identify genes involved in the HN/AD process. Results showed differences in nitrogen metabolism genes among the strains, suggesting a lack of a shared HN/AD pathway. The research enhances understanding of these bacterial strains and identifies potential genes as markers for the HN/AD process. [Extracted from the article] |
