The article discusses legal issues and recommendations that need to be acknowledged by school leaders to express support to students with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). It explored topics including the symptoms of PTSD such as mood and cognition alterations, the special education eligibility of concerned students under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), and the trauma-sensitive practices which may be considered by schools for the benefit of students with PTSD. |
