Granular Chemisorbent Based on Zinc Oxide Supported on γ – AI2O3.

Abstrakt: The article shows the possibility of synthesizing a ZnO-based sulfur chemisorbent deposited on a granular γ - AI 2 O 3 substrate by impregnating it with an aqueous zinc salt solution followed by thermal decomposition. The strength and textural properties of the obtained sorbent were studied via low-temperature nitrogen adsorption, x-ray diffraction, and scanning electron microscopy. The synthesized adsorbent exhibits higher strength and more efficient use of the surface than conventional ZnO-based sorbents used in natural gas processing. The proposed sorbent showed relatively high static sulfur capacity for H 2 S adsorption as compared to industrial zinc-based counterparts. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
