Abstrakt: This paper summarizes data on the distribution of Rhizoctonia fungi in Russia. The taxonomical history of the genus is described and its morphological characterization is given. This genus includes the ge-nera Thanatephorus and Ceratobasidium, quite popular in the second half of the 20th century. A total of 4 species of the genus are currently known in Russia. A key for their identification, original morphological descriptions of the species, and a descriptive list of data on substrates, habitat characteristics and distribution over Russia are presented. The list includes our own data, herbarium materials, and bibliographical sources. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
