This article focuses on how to develop superior outsourcing programs. Organizations can improve their outsourcing experience by developing a process based on knowledge management and sound metrics. Before an organization can improve its outsourcing process, it must accept that mistakes, surprises, errors, failures, foul-ups, and blunders are all part of the trying-and-testing game. Unless the organization is willing to experiment with outsourcing, it will never learn. An organization cannot also improve a process unless it can measure it. Measures indicate how the process is performing. In doing so, an organization also shows whether managerial intervention is helping to improve the process. |
