A new sesquiterpenoid, 2-methyl-6-(4′-methylcyclohexa-3′-enyl)hept-2-en-4-one (1) and six known compounds with similar structures were isolated from the rhizomes of Chinese ginger (Zingiber officinale Roscoe, Zingiberaceae).
