Researchers at the University of Trento conducted a clinical trial study on lung ultrasound spectroscopy for the differential diagnosis of pulmonary diseases. The study utilized a multifrequency approach with radio frequency data from 114 patients, leading to high accuracies in distinguishing between cardiogenic pulmonary edema, pneumonia, and pulmonary fibrosis. The research concluded that mean total intensity showed potential in improving the specificity of lung ultrasound.
