Abstrakt: Researchers at the National Heart Lung and Blood Institute conducted a study on the association between cardiorespiratory fitness (CRF) and platelet reactivity in cardiovascular disease (CVD). The study, which involved 3014 participants from the Framingham Heart Study, found that higher CRF was linked to decreased platelet reactivity across various platelet agonists. These findings suggest that CRF may play a role in reducing CVD risk by inhibiting platelet function, potentially impacting anticoagulant and antiplatelet therapies for CVD prevention. The research has been peer-reviewed and published in Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise. [Extracted from the article]
