A study conducted at the Second Hospital of Tianjin Medical University in China explored the use of patient-derived organoids (PDOs) in personalized treatment for invasive urothelial carcinoma. The research found that PDOs cultured from biopsy tissues were sensitive to a specific drug combination, leading to successful neoadjuvant chemotherapy and subsequent radical cystectomy in two patients. The study suggests that PDOs could help optimize treatment options and improve survival outcomes in personalized medicine for urothelial carcinoma. [Extracted from the article] |
