A recent study conducted at the University of British Columbia in Kelowna, Canada, highlighted the insufficient readiness of paramedics to encounter patients experiencing intimate partner violence (IPV) and IPV-caused brain injury. The research emphasized the need for nationally mandated education, training, and infrastructure to ensure that all survivors of IPV receive high-quality care. The study found that paramedics demonstrated moderate levels of readiness, with gender and previous experience with IPV influencing their readiness levels. The findings underscore the importance of implementing comprehensive support systems for paramedics to effectively address IPV-related cases. [Extracted from the article] |
