A recent study from Johns Hopkins University Hospital highlighted the challenges and barriers faced by ketogenic diet teams in providing services to patients with epilepsy. The study, conducted at a conference in the United Kingdom, surveyed attendees, mostly dietitians, from 17 countries. Common barriers identified included long waiting lists, lack of adult services, and financial constraints for families. Addressing these barriers could potentially expand the usage of ketogenic therapy for more epilepsy patients. [Extracted from the article] |
