Researchers from the University of Anahuac conducted a study on body composition differences in patients with Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatotic Liver Disease (MASLD). The study found that body composition in MASLD patients varies with BMI increase, potentially due to loss of skeletal muscle mass rather than metabolic abnormalities. Factors such as high waist circumference and the presence of liver steatosis were associated with altered body composition. This research provides valuable insights into the relationship between body composition and MASLD. [Extracted from the article] |
