Abstrakt: A recent study conducted by researchers at Baskent University Faculty of Medicine in Adana, Turkey, focused on the impact of age on clinicopathological features and treatment outcomes in patients with localized prostate cancer undergoing definitive radiotherapy. The study compared patients aged < 70 and 70 years, analyzing biochemical disease-free survival, prostate cancer-specific survival, overall survival, and side effects. Results showed that age did not significantly affect survival rates or toxicities, indicating that definitive radiotherapy is a safe and effective treatment for localized prostate cancer regardless of age. The study emphasized the importance of considering prognostic factors and comorbidities in treatment decisions for prostate cancer patients. [Extracted from the article]
