This article published in JCO Precision Oncology discusses a rare case of ALK-rearranged renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and the successful treatment with alectinib. The patient, a 64-year-old Caucasian male, had a robust and durable response to alectinib after failing multiple lines of standard RCC therapies. The study highlights the importance of timely identification of ALK rearrangements in RCC patients and the potential for targeted therapies to provide significant benefits in refractory cases. The findings contribute to the growing body of literature on ALK-rearranged RCC and the efficacy of ALK inhibitors in treating this rare subtype of RCC. [Extracted from the article] |
