The paper provides an overview of the image of Hungarians as formulated by Transylvanian Romanians in the second half of the 19th century through historical and political writings, literature, memoirs, correspondence, journalism, etc. The aim of the paper is to highlight the most widespread stereotypes and the characteristics of this distinctly subjective portrayal. The study focuses on three aspects: Hungarians in history, in everyday life, and in politics. The components of the national image are categorized within these main groups, as these are the contexts in which the characterizations occurred. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
