Abstrakt: |
A new method for identifying metals is proposed for consideration, based on modern achievements in fracture mechanics. It significantly expands the ability of metal scientists to determine the relationship between the structure of a metal and its endurance limit and crack resistance. The method is physically substantiated and easy to calculate without restrictions on the geometric dimensions of the sample. The efficiency of the method is illustrated by the example of the operational reliability of electric-welded gas pipes 1220 × 12.5 mm made of low-alloy steel 17G1S from various sheet metal manufacturers.
