Researchers at the University of Cambridge conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis on female sexual dysfunction in psoriasis patients using the Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI). The study found that women with psoriasis had a higher likelihood of sexual dysfunction and lower scores in desire, arousal, lubrication, orgasm, satisfaction, and total FSFI scores compared to controls. The research suggests the importance of routine assessment of sexual health in women with psoriasis and calls for larger prospective studies to explore underlying mechanisms and risk factors. The study was published in the International Journal of Impotence Research and can be accessed online. [Extracted from the article] |
