A recent study conducted by researchers from Madonna University in Nigeria focused on the antibiogram profile and resistance patterns of microflora isolated from vaginal discharge in reproductive-age women. The study found that the microorganisms isolated showed high resistance to certain antibiotics commonly prescribed, but were relatively susceptible to others. The research suggested that bacterial vaginosis could be treated effectively with specific antibiotics, while candidiasis could be best treated with a particular antifungal drug.
