A recent study conducted at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine focused on improving follow-up care for adolescents with depressive symptoms. The research aimed to increase the rate of follow-up visits within 30 days from 25% to 40% for adolescents with positive depression screen results. By implementing quality improvement methods in primary care practices, the study successfully raised the mean follow-up rate to 43.1%, demonstrating the effectiveness of targeted interventions in enhancing care for high-risk adolescents.
