Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at the University of Pittsburgh focused on predictors of cytoreduction score following cytoreductive surgery-hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy for gastric peritoneal carcinomatosis. The study analyzed outcomes for 55 patients with gastric peritoneal carcinomatosis who underwent this treatment between 2001 and 2021. The findings suggested that certain factors, such as a cytoreduction completeness score > 0, peritoneal carcinomatosis index > 13, and fewer lymph nodes resected with the primary tumor, were associated with worse overall survival. While the results require further validation, they offer valuable insights for improving patient selection for this treatment. [Extracted from the article]
