A recent study conducted by researchers at the Department of Emergency Medicine focused on evaluating the impact of an online continuing education curriculum on Emergency Medical Services (EMS) clinician confidence and knowledge in caring for end-of-life (EOL) patients. The study involved 1825 EMS clinicians, including EMTs, AEMTs, and paramedics, from various EMS agencies across the United States. Results showed that asynchronous online education significantly improved EMS clinician confidence and knowledge, particularly benefiting EMTs and those with fewer years of experience in the field. The study highlights the importance of ongoing education in enhancing EMS clinicians' skills in caring for patients near the end of life. [Extracted from the article] |
