Researchers from Universitas Negeri Manado conducted a study to determine the optimal fixation duration using 10% potassium hydroxide (KOH) at 70°C for whole mount preparations of head lice (Pediculus humanus capitis). The study found that a 25-minute fixation provided the clearest and most detailed preparations, balancing clarity and structural preservation.
