Abstrakt: A study on influence of nutrient factors and defensive enzymes on maize hybrids was conducted where, nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium and peroxidases, polyphenol oxidases were analysed, respectively. Nitrogen and phosphorous increased susceptibility of maize hybrids to corn leaf aphid infestation whereas, potassium, peroxidase and polyphenol oxidase did not favour the infestation. Nutritional components in leaf samples of maize hybrids on the infestation of corn leaf aphid revealed that the infestation was significant and correlated positively with nitrogen (0.953**) and phosphorus (0.986**). While a significant and negative correlation was observed in case of potassium (-0.952**), peroxidase (-0.980*) and polyphenol oxidase (-0.822**). Whereas, nutritional components in tassels of maize hybrids on the infestation of corn leaf aphid was significant and correlated positively with nitrogen (0.976**) and phosphorus (0.938**). While a significant negative correlation was observed in case of potassium (-0.838**), peroxidase (-0.873*) and polyphenol oxidase (-0.968**). [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
