Abstrakt: The classification of insulating polymeric materials is presented, and their key characteristics are analyzed. The advantages and disadvantages of various polymeric insulating materials are compared, in particular, polyethylene and ethylene–propylene rubber, as well as epoxy compounds. Modern technologies for the production of solid polymer insulation (SPI) and their influence on the electrical strength and reliability of insulation systems are considered. It is shown that gas inclusions and internal stresses significantly reduce the electrical strength of SPI, which requires strict adherence to technological standards in production. Methods for preventing the formation of SPI defects and improving its service characteristics are considered. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
