Abstrakt: The article presents a study which evaluated the cytotoxic activity of the fraction containing Ergosta-14,22-dien-3-ol, a steroid compound derived from Dysidea avara sponges, against Jurkat/E6-1 and Hek293 cells. Topics discussed include techniques used to isolate and identify the compound from marine sponges from the Persian Gulf, pharmacological properties of absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion, and toxicity, and molecular docking activities.
