Abstrakt: The article presents a study which observed whether probiotic supplements (PBS), through the gut-brain axis in drug addiction, can decrease morphine (Mor) tendency in rats by affecting oxidative stress (OS) markers, using a conditioned place preference (CPP) paradigm. Topics include definition of the term "microbiome," preparation and administration of the probiotics, and influence of PBS on mood and behavior via antioxidative/oxidative signaling.
