The Italian academic debate and research on Severe Labor Exploitation appear to be characterized by several levels of criticality, including the lack of a shared definition of the concept of SLE and an over-representation of sociological research on forms of SLE related to agromafias and caporalato in Southern agriculture. Starting from these considerations, the essay intends to offer a theoreticalconceptual proposal through a definition of Serious Labor Exploitation to be read in the context of a broader reflection on contextual intersectional Regimes of precarity, and then to analyze some dimensions of Serious Labor Exploitation of asylum seekers migrant men in the kitchens of some restaurants, isolated places where workers often encounter forms of exploitation that are as radical as they are difficult to recognize. To do this, we will start from the main results of a research conducted within the Liguria region, in the difficult months of spring 2020, as part of the project HTH - HOPE THIS HELP, consisting of the realities that, at the regional level, are engaged in the fight against trafficking and exploitation. Methodologically, twenty-three semi-structured qualitative interviews were conducted with key informants and migrants. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR] |
