Abstrakt: A study conducted by researchers at Charles University of Prague examined the safety and efficacy of percutaneous transthoracic needle biopsy (PTNB) for lung lesions, finding it to be a safe method with a very low risk of pleural recurrence. The study included patients who underwent PTNB between 2018 and 2022, with a diagnostic yield of 86.6% and a low incidence of acute complications. The researchers concluded that PTNB is a viable alternative to bronchoscopy biopsies for diagnosing lung lesions. [Extracted from the article]
