A recent study conducted in Bangladesh by the National Institute of Preventive and Social Medicine explored the relationship between cognitive social capital and geriatric depression among rural elderly individuals. The research found significant associations between geriatric depression and factors such as gender, marital status, education, and family dynamics. The study suggests that interventions focusing on cognitive social capital could help alleviate geriatric depression and promote the psychological well-being of older adults in rural areas.
