Abstrakt: A recent study conducted at the University of North Carolina (UNC) Medical Center and UNC Rex Hospital focused on identifying electrographic seizures (ESz) in critically ill patients admitted for non-neurological diagnoses. The research found that clinical signs such as ocular movement abnormalities and facial twitching were not reliable predictors of ESz in this patient population. The study highlighted the need for further prospective research to better evaluate the accuracy of these clinical features in identifying seizures in hospitalized patients.
