A study conducted at Sichuan University in the People's Republic of China explored the association between subclavian steal phenomenon (SSP) and contralateral vertebral artery stenosis (VAS) in patients with atherosclerosis. The research found that SSP was associated with a lower prevalence of contralateral VAS, particularly in patients with left subclavian or right subclavian artery stenosis. This study, supported by the China National Key Research and Development Project, provides valuable insights into the relationship between SSP and VAS in cardiovascular health.
