A recent study conducted in Shanghai, China, focused on the impact of residential air pollution and green space exposure on mortality in individuals with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The study, which included over 174,000 participants, found that higher exposure to fine particulate matter (PM2.5) was associated with increased risks for various causes of mortality, while green space was linked to reduced mortality risks. The research underscores the vulnerability of individuals with diabetes to the adverse health effects of air pollution and highlights the potential protective effects of green infrastructure.
