Researchers from the University of Sharjah conducted a pilot cross-sectional study to evaluate the association between electronic cigarette use and stress, depression, and anxiety among dental students in the UAE. The study included 142 participants split into smokers and non-smokers, with findings showing a significant correlation between electronic cigarette use and elevated levels of stress, anxiety, and depression. Female participants were 2.5 times more likely to report severe anxiety compared to males.
