Abstrakt: A study conducted by the Turkish Ministry of Health aimed to assess the potential severity of harm from erroneous results in 195 laboratory tests by surveying 514 specialist physicians and medical biochemistry experts. Participants identified tests such as cardiac biomarkers, blood gases, coagulation parameters, critical ions, toxic trace elements, and specific serum drug levels as having a greater potential for patient harm in case of errors. The research concluded that there was substantial agreement between medical biochemists and clinicians regarding the severity of harm scores, providing objective data to identify high-risk tests for quality improvement.
