A recent study conducted by Shandong University in China examined the relationship between physical activity levels and the risk of all-cause mortality in middle-aged and elderly individuals. The research, based on data from the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study, found that higher levels of physical activity were associated with a lower risk of mortality. The study also suggested that reduced body mass index (BMI) and inflammatory responses in the body may mediate this relationship. The findings highlight the potential health benefits of increased physical activity for this population. [Extracted from the article] |
