A study conducted in Istanbul, Turkey, by the Department of Cardiology focused on the impact of enhanced stent imaging (ESI) on stent under-expansion during percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). The research found that using ESI led to improved stent placement, as indicated by a greater minimal lumen diameter (MLD) compared to X-ray guided PCI. This study supports the use of the ESI system to optimize stent placement in patients undergoing PCI for stable angina or acute coronary syndrome. [Extracted from the article] |
